Not only that, it means every scene where Elphie is alone is completely Glinda’s own imagining, or her vision of what Elphaba later recounted (including The Wizard and I, I’m Not That Girl and No Good Deed).
Wicked is Glinda’s narration of the events to the people of Oz/to herself, and it never really occurred to me how unreliable she is as a narrator. Something just hit me for the first time.
